It’s important to remember that oil canning only affects the panel’s aesthetic, and is not a cause for rejection or failure of a roofing or wall application. There are numerous reasons why oil canning can occur: uneven roof decking, improper installation, thermal expansion and contraction, and improper handling or storing and stress from the manufacturing.
